Soak thatta payaru overnight. Pressure cook the cow peas with thoor dal, pinch of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of oil for 7 whistles. |

Heat the pan with oil, mustard seeds. Let the mustard seeds cracks, add onion, garlic, green chilli, curry leaves & tomato, saute it well. Add bottle gourd, saute well and cook for a minute. |

Add turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt, hing and saute well. Add 1/2 cup of water. Keep 10 minutes to cook. |

Add tamarind water, cooked thatta payaru. Add more water for consistency if need. Cook for 4-5 mins with medium flames. |

Dish is ready to serve with rice and dosa. |
