Pachai Payaru Kuzhambu / Moong Gram Gravy


Pachai Payaru(split or whole) - 1 cup, Oil - 1 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Pearl Onion - 5, Green chilli - 2, Garlic - 3 cloves, Cumin - 1/2 tsp, black pepper - 1/4 tsp, Turmic powder - 1/2 tsp, Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp, Tomato - 1, Curry leaves, Red dry chilli - 2, Salt, Malli / Coriander leaves


Method


Dry roast the pachai payaru for 5 minutes on the medium flame. Cook the pachai payaru along with 2 1/2 cups of water, tomato, green chilli, turmeric powder, sambar powder, onion, cumin, black pepper, garlic for 5 whistles.
Cool it completely, add salt and mash it well.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds when it splutter, add red dry chilli and curry leaves.
Add these into cooked pachai payaru, mix well and cook for a minute on the medium flame.
Pachai Payaru Kuzhambu / Moong Gram Gravy is ready to serve with rice, idli, dosa and chapati.
