Sundakkai / Turkey Berry Vathal Kuzhambu


Ingredients
Sundakkai vathal - 1/2 cup, Sesame oil - 3 tbsp, Fenugreek seeds - a pinch, Garlic - 5 cloves, Onion - 1/2 chopped, Red dry chilli - 5, Curry leaves, Malli / Coriander seeds - 1 1/2 tbsp, Sambar powder - 1 1/2 tbsp, Rice - 3/4 tbsp, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Tamarind water - 1/2 cup, Salt


Method
Get all the ingredients ready
Dry roast the rice, and add malli, red dry chilli on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Cool it completely and blends it to fine powder. Keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add sundakkai vathal and saute with medium flame for a minute until it start to change color. Keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add a pinch of fenugreek seeds, red dry chilli, curry leaves, onion and saute well until onion turns to golden brown.
Add tomato and saute well until it becomes soft.
Add ground powder, turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt and saute well for a minute.
Add 1/2 cup water  and cook for a minute.
Add tamarind water and sundakkai along with the oil and let it to simmer for 20 minutes on a low flame.
The oil should float on top of the kuzhambu. This indicates, the kuzhambu is done.
Sundakkai / Turkey Berry Vathal Kuzhambu is ready to serve with rice.
