Vazhaipoo / Plantain flower Poriyal

Vazhaipoo / Plantain flower - 1 (medium size), Oil - 1 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Urad gram - 1 tbsp, Green chilli - 2, Curry leaves, Onion - 1/2 chopped, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Shredded coconut - 2 tbsp, Salt

Get all the ingredients ready
Remove the middle thick part of the flowers, they tend to not cook and finely chopped the flowers.
Boil the valaipoo with a pinch of turmeric powder and salt. It gets cooked quickly. 
After, drain the water completely and keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds when its splutters, add urad gram, onion, green chilli and curry leaves and saute well until turns golden brown.
Add turmeric powder, salt, coconut and mix well. Allow to cook for a minute.
Add cooked vazhaipoo, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Vazhaipoo Poriyal is ready to serve.
