Vendakkai / Okra Kuzhambu with Coconut

Vendakkai - 200 gram, Sesame oil - 2 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Onion - 1 chopped, Red dry chilli - 3, Tomato - 1, Curry leaves, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Sambar powder - 2 tbsp, Tamarind water - 3 tbsp, Shredded coconut - 2 tbsp, Salt

Get all the ingredients ready
Heat the pan with oil, add onion, add tomato, saute well until onion and tomato turns soft. And add coconut and sambar powder, saute well and cook for a minute.

After cool it completely, grind it in to fine paste.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters add red dry chilli,curry leaves and onion,saute well until onion turns golden brown and add vendakkai, saute well and  cook for a minutes.
Add tamarind water, add turmeric powder and salt, saute well and cook for 6-7 minutes.
Then add masala paste and add a cup of water. Close the pan with a lid and lei it simmer for 10-15 minutes on medium flame.
The oil should float on top of the kuzhambu. This indicates the kuzhambu is done.
Vendakkai/Okra Kuzhambu is ready to serve with rice.
