Thakkali Kuzhambu / Tomato Gravy

Oil, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Onion - 1/2 , Tomato - 2 (medium size), Green chilli - 2, Curry leaves, Malli/Coriander leaves, Coconut - 3/4 cup, Ginger - 1/2 inch, Garlic - 4 cloves, Cinnamon - 1 inch, cloves - 5, fried gram - 1 tbsp, Fennel seeds - 1 tsp, Curry masala powder - 1&1/2 tbsp

Get all the ingredients ready.
In a blender, add coconut, fried gram, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, water and blends into a fine paste. Keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters, add onion, green chilli, curry leaves, saute well until onion turns golden brown and add tomato.
Add 1&1/2 tbsp of curry masala powder, saute well and add 1 cup of water.
Cook for 5 minutes on the medium flame.
Add grounded paste and 2 cup of water to adjust the kuzhambu consistency.
Cook for 10-15 minutes or the kuzhambu became thick. Garnish the coriander leaves.
Thakkali Kuzhambu / Tomato Gravy is ready to serve with idli, dosa, chapathi and rice.
