Aval / Poha Upma

Thick aval - 1.5 cup, Oil, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Urad gram - 1/2 tsp, Bengal gram - 1 tsp, Peanuts - 1 tsp, Ginger - 1/2 inch, Green chilli - 3, Onion - 1/2, Curry leaves, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Salt, Malli/Coriander leaves


Get all the ingredients ready.
Pour water and soak for 2 minutes or until it soft.
Drain off the water.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters, add urad gram, bengal gram, chopped ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, onion and saute well until onion turns to golden brown.
Add turmeric powder, salt and saute well for 30 seconds on medium flame.
Add soaked and drained aval.
Mix well and let it simmer for a minute on low flame and garnish the coriander leaves.
Aval / Poha Upma is ready to serve.
