Get the all ingredients ready. |

Heat the pan with oil, add kovakkai and saute 5 minutes and keep aside. |

In a same pan add mustard seeds when it splutters, add garlic, onion, red dry chilli, curry leaves, & saute well until onion turns to golden brown and add tomato , saute well for 2 minutes. |

Add turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt and saute well. Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 5 minutes. |

Add fried kovakkai, tamarind puree and add a cup of water to adjust the kuzhambu consistency. Close the pan and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. |

Once, the kuzhambu becomes thick and let it simmer on low flame for 2-3 minutes. |
|
Kovakkai / Tindora Puli Kuzhambu is ready to serve with rice. |
