Thakkali Sadam / Tomato Rice

Cooked rice - 1 bowl, Oil - 2 tbsp, Bay leaf - 1, Cinnamon - 1 inch, Cloves - 3, Star - 1, Bengal gram - 1 tsp, Onion - 1, Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp,  Green chilli - 2, Curry leaves, Tomato - 2, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Garam masala powder - 1/2 tbsp, Salt, Mint, Coriander leaves


Get all the ingredients ready.
Heat the pan with oil, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, star, bengal gram, saute well until bengal gram turns golden brown.
Add onion, green chilli, curry leaves and saute well until onion turns golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well for 30 seconds.
Add tomato, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and saute well until tomato becomes soft.
Once tomato became cooked, add chopped mint and coriander leaves and saute well for few minutes.
The oil is floating on the top, its indicates thakkali mixture is ready. Add cooked rice into the thakkali mixture & mix well and cook for a minute on low flame.
Thakkali Sadam / Tomato Rice is ready to serve.
