Snake Gourd Kootu | Pudalangai Kootu

Pudalangai - 1, Coconut oil - 1 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp, Bengal gram - 1/2 cup, Green chilli - 2, Onion, Curry leaves, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup, Fennel seed - 1/2 tsp, Cinnamon - 1 inch, Cloves - 3, Garlic clove - 2, Salt


Get all the ingredients ready.
Cook bengal gram till soft. Do not over cook.
In a blender add coconut, green chilli, fennel seeds, cinnamon, cloves and blends into a fine paste. Keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters, add green chilli, curry leaves, onion and saute well until onion turns to golden brown. Add pudalangai, turmeric powder, salt and saute well. Close the pan and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Now add the cooked bengal gram, grounded paste and mix well.
Add a cup of water and bring it to boil on the medium flame.
Snake Gourd Kootu | Pudalangai Kootu is ready to serve with rice.
