Chow Chow with Chana Gram Gravy | Chayote with Chana Gram Gravy

Chow chow - 1, Chana gram - 1/2 cup, Onion - 1, Tomato - 2, Ginger - 1 inch, Garlic - 3 cloves, Green chilli - 2, Curry leaves, Malli/Coriander leaves, Cumin seeds- 1 tsp, Cashews - 5, Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp, Curry Masala powder - 2 tbsp

Get all the ingredients ready.
soak the chana gram for 30 minutes.
Heat the pan with oil, add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, saute well until it turns to soft. Add 2 tbsp of curry masala powder, cashews and mix well for 30 seconds and switch off the flame. Cool it completely.
In blender, add roasted masala and blends into fine paste. Transfer the grounded masala in a bowl and add 3 cups of water and mix well.
Heat the pressure cooker with 2 tbsp of oil, add cumin  seeds when it splutters, add green chilli, curry leaves, soaked chana gram and saute well for a minute. 
Add chow chow, saute well and cook for a minute.
Add grounded masala, salt and 1/2 cup of water to adjust the gravy consistency. Close the pressure cooker and cook it to 3 whistles.
Open the pressure cooker after air released and add coriander leaves.
Chow Chow with Chana Gram Gravy | Chayote with Chana Gram Gravy is ready to serve with idli, dosa and chapathi, rice.
