Kongu Nadu Style Mutton Kuzhambu | Arachuvitta Mutton Kuzhambu


Ingredients
Mutton - 1 lb(450 gram), Onion - 1, Tomato - 1, Green chilli - 2, Ginger - 1 inch, Garlic - 5, Shredded coconut - 1/4 cup, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves, Coriander seeds - 2 tbsp, Cumin seeds - 1 tsp, Fennel seeds - 1 tsp, Whole pepper - 1 tsp, Cinnamon - 1 inch, Cloves - 7, Salt, Red dry chilli - 4, Rice - 1 tsp, Oil - 2 tbsp, Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp


Method

Get all the ingredients ready.
Heat the pan with 1 tsp of oil, add  cCoriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, whole pepper, cinnamon, cloves, red dry chilli, rice and saute well for 2 minutes in medium flame.
Add shredded coconut, saute well for 1 minute. Keep aside and cool it completely.
Heat the pan with 1 tsp of oil, add onion, ginger, garlic and saute well for 1 minute and add tomato, saute well for 2 minutes in medium flame. Keep aside and cool it completely.
Transfer the roasted spices and onion mixer into a blender and add the required water.
Then, blends into a fine paste and transfer into a bowl.
Heat the pressure cooker with 1 tbsp of oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters, add green chilli, curry leaves. Add add tomato and saute well for 1 minute.
Add mutton and saute well for a minute. Add turmeric powder, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add the grinded masala.
Add required water to adjust the kuzhambu consistency and mix well.
Add salt and mix well.
Close the pressure cooker and cook it to 6-7 whistles.
Open the pressure cooker after air released. Oil is floating on the top that indicates the mutton is cooked.
Kongu Nadu Style Mutton Kuzhambu | Arachuvitta Mutton Kuzhambu is ready to serve with rice, idly, dosa and chapathi.
