Vazhakkai / Plaintain Podimas

Vazhakkai - 1, Oil, Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp, Urad gram - 1 tbsp, green chilli - 2, Curry leaves, Onion - 1/2 chopped, Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup, Salt

Get all the ingredients ready
Cut two sides of vazhakkai and cook for 15 minutes or it comes soft. Peel and shredded. Keep aside.
Heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add urad gram, curry leaves, green chilli, onion, saute well until onion turns to golden brown. Add Salt and cook for a minute.
Add shredded coconut, saute well and cook for a minute.
Add mashed vazhakkai, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes on the low flame.
Vazhakkai Podimas is ready to serve with sambar and rasam rice.
