Mutton Biryani in Pressure Cooker


Ingredients
Mutton - 2 lbs(900 grams), Rice - 3 cups(soaked it for 30 minutes),  Oil - 3 tbsp, Ghee - 2 tbsp, Bay leaf - 3, Cinnamon - 3 inch, Cloves - 6, Star - 2, Cashews - 10, Onion - 1 (Big size), Green chilli - 3,  Ginger garlic paste - 3 tbsp, Tomato - 2, Mint & Coriander leaves (handful), Garam masala powder - 1 tbsp, Coriander powder - 2 tbsp, Red chilli powder - 1 tsp, Curd - 1/2 cup, Salt, Water - 6 cups 


Method

Get all the ingredients ready.
Heat the pressure cooker with oil and ghee, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, star, cashews and allow it to splutter. Then, add onion sliced onion, green chilli and saute well. cook for 5 minutes until onion becomes soft and golden brown.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.
Add tomatoes and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes until the tomatoes becomes mushy. Then, Add mint, coriander leaves, saute well and cook for 2 minutes.
Add mutton pieces and mix well. Then, add coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, salt and saute well.
Add curd and mix well.
Add a cup of water and mix well. Pressure cook it for 7 to 8 whistles. Allow the pressure to rea down. 
Add 5 cups of water and soaked rice and mix gently. Close the cooker on medium flame for first whistle and on low flame for next whistle(about 3-4 minutes). Then, switcch off the flame and wait for pressure in the cooker to release naturally. Open the cooker and fluff up the rice gently.
Mutton Biryani is ready to serve.
